A Rare Treat!

I counted 17 on the deck-we actually had room for a few more!
When it got too cold we all pile in to the rig-all 17 of us! What a treat-having them play in my own living room...Can't wait for the show tomorrow.....

As SKP Park Sierra prepares for the Annual Stagecoach Days, we were delighted to know Ed Bonham and Co. were going to be our entertainment for Thursday's skillet dinner. Ed and Co.-a very talented ensemble- came to the park today to renew old friendships. Art and Anne organized a pizza and beer party but were kicked out of the clubhouse so we had it here at Grammys!

Tuning up is always necessary-after all, everyone has to be on the same page, yes?
It started with beer and pizza on deck-but got too cold

This Was the Week That Was

Whew! I mentioned that my new rig needed repairs and I left it at the dealer's before the cruise, giving them almost two weeks to make the repairs. They found a couple of new problems along the way, but the real, most important issue wasn't addressed. So, Cecile and I went to meet the new general manager, the maintenance manager, the service writer and any other personnell we could find, determined to resolve this. I don't have much time before I leave for the coast, and I sure didn't want to drive my rig in the condition it was in.
Day 1-We met with the General Manager. After an hour and a half of discussions, he took the maintenance manager and the tech supervisor on a test ride. Then they called a company that does their alignments and made an appt. for the next am. We decided to stay, hoping the problem would be solved.
Day 2-We got up early so the rig was available by 8 am, but the alignment company didn't even look at it until mid afternoon. It was 4:45 pm before I could take it on a test drive. Guess what? The problem was just as bad as before! This test drive included their quality control officer,
the service writer, Cecile an me. It was devastating. The QC said he had seen this before on new rigs, and he recommended replacing the steering column and gear box. We (C&I) went to dinner to strategize for the next day. We thought they would try and delay by saying they couldn't get the part.
Day 3- Service writer woke us up to say she had contacted the workhorse co.: they want more tests, and if that doesn't solve the problem, a service person would come and do a test drive, but couldn't come until May. That was totally unacceptable, so we went to breakfast to strategize. In the meantime the rig went back to the alignment Co. We returned to the dealers and were told it would be mid afternoon before it gets back, so of course we went shopping! On the way back I was contacted by cell and told the rig hadn't been looked at yet and it would be closer to 4:30 before it returned. I flipped of course, and Cecile had to go home to catch up on the many chores she had. By 4 the service writer came by and said I might be happy, but I told her the best I could muster was cautious optimism. The QC came by and we had a long talk- he told me he had talked to the alignment Co. and they think they found-are you ready?- tires out of round! I drove it (at 6:00 pm) and found the difference phenominal. So, I took it home!
Day 4- Exhausted beyond belief I was ready for a jammy day, but I was called for jury duty at Superior Court. It was a murder trial, and scheduled for at least two-three weeks. For personal reasons I couldn't do it, and they excused me!
Day 5- My jammy day...ahhh

Spring is in the Air

OOOPS! The pictures are in reverse and I don't know how to fix it-ahhh, grammy has a lot to learn

After all that work, we went shopping for "I Beam"

Of course, we had to get some of momma's favorites, too! Isn't she cute in her skirt outfit?
I have my own private pony ride whenever I want-as long as Buddy is in the mood.
Yes, that is a pit bull, and one of the most gentle dogs I've ever seen. But, don't try to enter his territory if you're a stranger!
I'm mad at my momma 'cause she combed my hair and put it in pig tails. But really, I like them 'cause I can toss them about and make them bounce.
All's well again. I have my yogurt and Lilo and Stitch
We start with chores-watering the flowers
C has learned how to retrieve water from the dogs dish-wait till she finds out about the hose!
And, when all the chores are done, I'll just chill out on our new deck-it's almost finished!
Spring is in the Air-and Grammy got the pictures in reverse! Well, spring brings flowers, cleaning and shopping to mind, so that's what we did!

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

The Thompsons had a fantastic  salmon feast today. They smoked salmon and albacore tuna-so delishous! They invited some friends over to share this meal. I was so busy eating the food  I didn't get a picture of the table-or half of the friends attending. Still, it couldn't have been a more perfect day! More days like this, please!

L to R: Dennis, Ken, Janice and Gary
They're posing for pix.....
Gary and Cecile, our host and hostess, are monitoring the fire pit. It's a really neat combo fire pit and barbeque, and can be packed for traveling.
Doesn't Gary look relaxed?
Janice is doing a video.

We Do Know the Way From San Jose!

I left San Jose in 1999, and I'm so glad my friends from there
could take the time to come visit. I arranged for them to stay
at Chuckchansi Casino and Resort right across the street from
our Park. We split our time eating, gambling, and of course, playing cards!

LtoR: Estelle, Marlene, and Ellie
Happy smiles 'cause we just porked out at the buffet
I think they tried to hug the bear to get luck-didn't work, though. We all contributed to the well-being of Chuckchansi
